ABOUT

Hello!

My name is Joanna Wirażka and I am Polish artist whose artworks possess an inspiring message on sustainability. I am a student at Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London but my artistic adventrure embarked when I was 15 years old. Art has been always accompanying me but a certain leaf in a dusty wardrobe changed my utter life. Incorporating a powerful intention of raising awareness on saving our planet to paintings on leaves enticed million people around the world.

My artworks have been published on many web portals such as Bored Panda, MTV, Upworthy, Huffpost, NBC Today, Transport for London, Art People Gallery and more. In 2015 I was on the show in DDTVN (the most famous breakfast television in Poland). Additionally, my first exhibition was held in my hometown. Not only were the leaf artworks displayed but also my paintings were available to see. After the media buzz I decided to run a business. I started selling my leaves in January 2016. Running an online shop became my first job. I have worked with customers around the world ranging from the cities such as London, New York, Los Angeles, Sydney to Tokyo. In 2016 I collaborated with Daniel Wellington by making a time-lapse video of the leaf painting process. On September 2017 I contributed to the project, called Project Star Jumper. The project's exhibition was held in New York City, USA. Moreover, many GCSE students decide to use my artworks as their main topic of the project. Apart from running my own business I help them with the GCSE research. In spite of being a random discovery, my leaf-related experience taught me a lot. Now, I am going to pursue my career in fashion and turn the knowledge into spreading the awareness on sustainability and the industry.
